The prayer of the Divine Mercy was dictated by Jesus to St. Faustina, a simple, uneducated Polish nun, in the chapel of the Convent of Our Lady of Mercy in Vilinius on September 13th & 14th, 1935. Jesus appeared to St. Faustina in a vision and He asked her to paint an image of what she saw, with the signature "Jesus, I Trust in You". Jesus promised that the souls that say this chaplet will be embraced by His mercy during their lifetime and especially at the hour of their death. On their marriage in 1978, Dana and Damien were given a copy of the Divine Mercy image that Sr Faustina shared with the world. It has hung in their home ever since and they both have a personal devotion to Divine Mercy.
This unique version of the Divine Mercy Chaplet came about after a Mother Superior in St. Faustina’s order told Dana that she had felt in prayer that Dana was to record the Divine Mercy. It was many years before this recording was completed and Dana and Damien feel honoured to be able to share this with you. Between the decades and Chaplet prayers, the meditations spoken by Damien are from St Faustina’s writings. The sung prayer “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, have mercy on me a sinner” is a favourite prayer of Damien and combined with the hauntingly beautiful rendition of "Kyrie Ellison", is deeply prayerful and meditative.
In addition to the Divine Mercy chaplet is the stunning closing song “You are Loved” which has already touched many lives, bringing consolation and reconciliation. Through St Faustina Jesus tells us, “I am Love and Mercy itself. Come then with trust to draw graces from this fountain. Mankind will not have peace until it turns with trust to My mercy". We hope that this powerful album of inspired word and song, will help bring the message of His Divine Mercy to all who hear it.
